Guru Nan Jayanti holds great religious significance among Hindus. It was an auspicious day when Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born in Purnima Tithi in the month of Kartik. This festival is known as Guru Purab and Nanak Prakash Utsav. This is one of the most popular Sikh festivals around the world and is celebrated with grand processions. Guru Nanak Ji was a famous 15th century spiritual leader who believed in spreading peace and therefore wrote the Sikh holy book Guru Granth Sahib Ji, which has a total of 974 hymns (Shlokas). He also taught everyone “Ik Omkar” which means there is only one God and He is omnipresent. Regardless of your religious beliefs and personality, he showed people that God is everywhere.
